Well this one is like that, and then some! You’ve got a myriad of cool hardware stores onboard and surely one of these bad boys must be near your neck of the woods. USA and Canadian DIY home improvement fans will love this application to pieces. You can add the filter if you are only interested in a particular chain brand, the choice is yours. This App uses a cool GPS tool that will help you find the closest one, no matter where you are living or visiting. The additional information is ultra-helpful and really handy for those Sunday’s when most places tend to shut early.

This App will run on your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad and it requires iOS 2.2 or later for smooth running. If you have been frustrated when trying to work out that room space for your next project, how annoying is it when the figures just don’t add up? Unless you are a bit of an architect it can be hellish trying to stay on track. Home Sizer is a real Godsend because it works in a simple yet effective way that takes all of the stress out of this task. You simply dial in the room dimensions and name as you go and the App will calculate the area automatically. You’ll also get the overall house area once all of the rooms have been totted up. This can also be used to compare with other homes if you are looking to upgrade at some point in time. It’s a keeper and we just can’t get enough of this App!
Flashlight By Apps From Outer Space LLC – Free
This App will run on your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad and it requires iOS 5.0 or later for smooth running. You’ve probably seen a few Smartphones with the torch accessory already, but they are nothing like this beauty. As well as a very powerful LED beam, this App allows you to play around with the focus as much as you like. There are also a few light hearted extras that will really crack you up. But for the more serious jobs, this baby will never let you down. It’s free and it rocks!
Trash Day Alarm By Simple Beep – Free
This App will run on your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad and it requires iOS 5.0 or later for smooth running. Okay, our final iOS App is not particularly glamorous but it’s certainly a helpful little fellow. See what a designer need to know about iOS7. How many times have you cursed as the garbage truck has passed your home because you forgot to put out the bins? Well, that will never happen again if you download this cheeky chappy. There are two cycles available and the interface is nice and easy to use – Winner!
